How to cite Chinese References in English Manuscripts

When submitting to English journals, citing Chinese references in their original form is not appropriate. To address this issue, IvyCite offers a practical solution. Follow these steps:

Using ivySCI Software:

  1. Open the ivySCI and navigate to the literature management section.
  2. Select the target Chinese reference, click "Edit" then choose "Translate Title" to auto-translate the title to English. If translation fails, ensure ivySCI is updated or manually translate.
  3. Click "Submit" of the bottom to save the changes.

Using the Add-in:

  1. Insert citations at the appropriate position in your manuscript.
  2. After completing all citations, go to Menu -> Set Styles and check Auto Translate Non--English Literatures.
  3. The system will auto-translate and format the citations.
